Exterior fire sprinkler systems help to prevent damage to buildings from wildfires by wetting combustible materials on and around the building. WaterSprout designed & installed a system which draws water from the 40,000 gallon pool to supply eight roof mounted sprinklers. In addition two fire hose stand pipes are installed for users to combat hot-spots. The system can be remotely activated using a phone app or web browser. WaterSprout also installed a rainwater system with 13,600 gallons of storage.     Architect | Gast Architects

We Support Access to Clean Water For All

    June 22, 2022
There are many organizations doing great work with water these days. One organization we are inspired by is DigDeep, a nonprofit dedicated to providing clean water to every American. Their Navajo Water Project is providing safe, clean drinking water to homes in Navajo Nation, where 30% of families live without running water. WaterSprout will be donating 2% of our 2022 profits to DigDeep and their ongoing efforts.   The Navajo Water Project

    Napa Valley Winery

    October 6, 2021
A Napa Valley Winery was interested in reducing their water footprint so WaterSprout created and implemented a plan to intercept existing site drainage. The system collects and filters rainwater from over 16,000 sq ft. of roof and hardscape areas prior to storage in the existing irrigation water tanks and is estimated to collect and use 340,000 gallons annually.  Drought and climate change have taxed the groundwater basins in Northern California’s winemaking region. We believe the best strategy for maintaining groundwater sustainability and long term health of the wine industry is to capture rainwater for irrigation usage.

As population continues to increase in California, our water supply remains finite. Are you aware that certain cities and counties like Marin and Los Angeles are now mandating dual plumbing for water reuse systems? Are you curious how to keep costs low when installing non-potable water systems for “greywater ready” city ordinances? We recently had an opportunity to discuss these new developments and some simple solutions with one of our past collaborators on the Alameda Warehouse Project, Bar Architects. The firm graciously hosted us for a socially distanced yet highly effective Zoom presentation with both their San Francisco and LA […]

    June 22, 2020
Urban Adamah seeks to build a more loving, just and sustainable world by providing farm-based, community building experiences that integrate Jewish tradition, mindfulness, sustainable agriculture, and social action. WaterSprout is helping them complete this mission with the new addition of a greywater system that has been designed and installed, collecting water from their Fellows House. We will be returning for phase two of the project when we will install another greywater system which will collect water from the Eco Lodge. Urban Adamah’s practice of sustainable agriculture draws from a range of traditional and modern agricultural methods and technologies that will […]

WaterSprout is making history by installing a Commercial Rainwater System for the first synagogue in the United States to become a net zero energy building. The 500,000 gallon rainwater storage system will be located underneath the parking garage of the new Kol Emeth synagogue in Palo Alto. Kol Emeth, a traditional, egalitarian Conservative synagogue will be one of only two synagogues achieving the certification of LEED Platinum. The building design is adapted to reflect contemporary expressions of faith and identity, which incorporates environmental beliefs in conservation and sustainability. We want to extend a thank you to our friends, GLS Landscape/Architecture […]

WaterSprout is putting on the finishing touches to our Commercial Greywater System design for the revitalization of Jordan Downs, a 1950s-era public housing development in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles.  The system will collect laundry water from the 80 unit multi-family building to supply 100% of the landscape irrigation demand. A big part of our job is outreach and education around non-potable water systems such as greywater and rainwater catchment. Did you know that potable rainwater systems are legal in California? Check out Appendix K of the California Plumbing Code, and our potable rainwater system at the NRG Little House on our website. Thanks to Lowney Architecture for hosting our recent presentation at their downtown Oakland office.   Related Project | NRG Little House | Project Contractor | Centric Construction Lowney Architecture
